Pacquaio-Cotto Nov 14 contract sealed
There’s no turning back. It’s final.
The Nov. 14 (Nov. 15 in Manila) Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto contract has been signed by the Filipino boxing phenomenon.
The contract stipulates that the fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada is a championship bout with Cotto’s World Boxing Organization welterweight title on the line.
Pacquaio will have a rare chance of making a history by becoming the first ever boxer to win seven world titles in as many divisions.
Pacman held championship belts in weight divisions flyweight, super bantamweight, featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and junior welterweight, a feat shared with Pacquiao by the guy whom he had sent to retirement – Oscar dela Hoya.
The contract further stated that the fight will be at the 145-pound catch weight.
And to top them all, Pacquiao will get the lion’s share, 65-35, in splitting the fight’s revenue.
However, Pacman’s lawyer Jeng Gacal did not disclose how much his ward is guaranteed to receive.
The fight will be beamed slightly delayed over GMA Network and live over dzBB.
Pacman’s Pound for Pound title is also on the line, although the contract did not mention it. -30-
